About

Creating The Language Station (TLS) has been a desire of mine for more than a year now. Finally it’s here in late November of 2010, having just made its first journey into cyberspace. That doesn't mean I have been working on it all this time. I've literally just started it. Until today I didn't know what I would call it and even now I am not sure how it will change in the months ahead. But I know it will improve, and your feedback can help that.
The scope of TLS is not limited to any particular language. I use English for examples because that's the most practical. But the focus is on study methods for learning all languages in general. That means it's very universal and can be adapted in a wide variety of contexts.

Because this blog is brand-new I will require some time to write and develop the volume of its content. But from the beginning my commitment to my readers is to present quality material that is completely original. I do not mean that I am the only one on planet earth to have thought of my methods or the ideas shared here on TLS. What I mean is that I have acquired them on my own from more than 17-years experience in language study, through trial and error, discovering what works and what doesn’t, and by teaching many students in diverse subjects including English, Italian, Music and the Bible.
But I am not only a teacher, I am also a student that is learning everyday. So I completely empathize with those of you studying languages, at all levels, especially elementary. I remember well the early days of every language I have had to learn. They are the most difficult, but eventually you do make it through the fog and into the clear light of day. For more about my language study, please see my very first post on November 21, or just click here

Visitors to this site are welcomed to leave comments, questions and suggestions, so long as they are sincere and well-intending. I will do my best to reply as time permits me. Also, TLS is free for everyone, but it is an investment of time for me. If you like this blog, you can help by spreading the word to others who might benefit from it. Share it on Facebook or Twitter, etc. You may also want to sign up to follow the posts here so you never miss one!

Thanks for visiting The Language Station, I hope you truly enjoy it.

Happy language learning,

Mark at TLS
